One of the Modest Winners!
It was good to see the Captain taking his role very seriously indeed! Who did the count back?
1st Nigel Harratt 30 point (on count back)
2nd Charles Steel 30 point
3rd Ken Adamson on 29 points
Des’s guest Kell Ives scored a very creditable 31 point off 14 and I have made a note should he decide to join!
Longest drive was Paul Tuffin measured at 237 yards into a breeze – however his second shot into the hole moved 30 yards right and 3 yards forward!!!
Nearest the pin was Des Ashley (can he get cut for this?)
The Big Banana which went too …………. the Handicap Secretary!
Dave Commented,
"For an incident involving a runaway trolley which frankly was hardly amusing, so I hope ALL the people that voted for it, which seemed to be everyone, will enjoy their new scratch handicaps!!!!!"

Naunton Downs, the annual midweek event
The rain that has been so badly needed made the fairways soft and the walking easy. However for those of us used to a never ending run of the ball there were a lot of shots coming up short. clearly this wasn't an issue for our runaway winner with an obscene 42 points!!!!
1st. - Trevor Kirtley. 42 points
2nd. - Gary Hughes 38 points
3rd. - Steve Shepherd 35 points
4th. - Nigel Palmer 33 points (awarded 3rd prize by the Captain for the Day, Steve, as he felt that home advantage was a factor in his 35. A true sportsman!!!! (I would say that wouldn't I?)
