Oundle Golf Club
Sun 10th June
16 players arrived to the best breakfast of the year on a day which promised to be warm and sunny. As usual, this is our this visit, the members were very friendly and welcoming and the course was in very good order.
However we were disappointed that the row of mature poplars which screens the fishermen from the golf course on the 11th. 12th. and 13th. had been felled.
After 2 trees had fallen down, a tree surgeon condemned the rest of the trees as unsafe due to the roots being compromised by the boggy conditions. However the members are hopeful that nature will ensure that the area recovers over time.
As to the competitions: this time it was Darren who claimed most of the prizes with Dean able to hang on to only one of them.
Ian and Dean shared 2nd and third places with 33 points each and the day was won by Nigel with 37.
